XYTme {excite me}

1 Apr 2010

i have up until now been posting images, many of them, without any source link. if i find an image that i enjoy and want to share that does not have an adequate source provided; i will not link to the tumblr, website, or blog that i found it on. a random internet persona does not in any way deserve credit for another person’s art. if i repost an image you have posted without sourcing you or without reblogging, it is because you have not provided an accurate source as to the origin of the image.

i will from this point forward be using (via _______) links to source blogs or tumblrs that give adequate and accurate citation to the original source of the images or words they use. i will, as well, be using a quote to outline the photographers, stylists, magazine publication, models, and designers involved in shoots i can manage to procure accurate information on or to credit writings accordingly. if i cannot find that information at the source, no citation will be provided.

if you find your image here and it is not cited because i do not know the source, i would be happy to add accurate source information pointing to your website or publication. please contact me through the “ask” function of this site (here) providing me with your name and a link to your website.

i also ask that if my properly cited images are chosen to be reblogged that you leave the source intact, if not through the text attached then through a simple click through link.

artists of all sorts work hard to produce their work and while i do want to provide credit to the parties involved in creating art, i refuse to provide credit to another tumblr/blog for “discovering” said artwork without proper documentation of source. anyone can use google, weheartit, and ffffound. thank you for your time and consideration.

That’s exactly how I feel and the same thing I do. Well put. I’m with ya! :) I find too often that people are lazy about finding/using good-quality photos and/or lazy about writing any info about the photo. At the least include the name of the singer, model, etc. So when I go the extra length to get good photos, provide proper names, and include applicable links - you better believe whoever happened to start the ball rolling sure as hell is NOT getting credit for my hard work. You want credit for a post, don’t do a sh!tty job!
